During the week of the World Ocean Conference, organized by the United Nations and held in New York, Sea2See had a place. The summit was looking for sustainable solutions to contribute to the conservation of the ocean. To demonstrate with a concrete example in front of the United Nations, the vice prime minister of Belgium used Sea2See’s glasses to show the potential of marine recycling and how it can change the cycle of the planet.
This optical company, located in Ciudad Real, has become interested in our project, creating high quality glasses that help conserve the ocean, and has helped to spread our story to a large number of clients. Two weeks ago, on the 22nd to the 24th of February, the fourth meeting of the World Ocean Summit was held in Bali, Indonesia. This is a worldwide summit that lends a critical eye to and puts into perspective the state of our oceans. The objective is to encourage innovative discussions about how we can come up with new and sustainable measures to save the sea. More than 260 world political, industrial, scientific and societal leaders attend this annual meeting.
Sea2see has embarked on a journey to help clean up the trash from the oceans, especially waste left behind by fishermen. This totally new adventure has the objective of transforming ocean plastic into the raw material used in the manufacturing of premium glasses of the highest quality and sustainability.
