OUR PROCESS

FROM MARINE WASTE TO FASHION IN 6 STEPS

The UPSEA™ plastic that is used in our products has been created from marine plastic waste that we have collected and recycled ourselves. Plastic does not disintegrate like natural products; it decomposes in microplastics that gets ingested by animals. Recycling is the first step to break this circle, but we need to change the way we design, consume and produce, and make all of us part of our story. This is how we do it.

WASTE
COLLABORATION
EUROPE

In collaboration with thousands of fishermen from Spain and France we collect on average 1/2 ton per day of marine plastic waste. For that matter, containers have been disposed in 27 ports of Spain and 12 of France.

WASTE
COLLABORATION
AFRICA

Our positive W-A-V-E-S approach has been deployed in Ghana and Senegal, where hundreds of coastal families benefit from a new source of income. We will extend our reach in further African & Asian nations.

WASTE
SEPARATION & CLASSIFICATIONS

We manually separate and select the different types of plastic to be recycled and refused.

UPCYCLING OF PLASTIC WASTE

The regenerative technology used, reduces waste to monomers by chemical reactions, to reproduce virgin-like polymers to create our UPSEA™ PLAST. The fundamental characteristic of this up-cycling process is the use of waste to create new products. Waste is therefore an integral part of the supply chain.

CERTIFICATION

Our raw material is Cradle to Cradle(tm) Gold Certified. This certification is the world’s most advanced, science-based standard regarding designing and making products for the Circular Economy.
