We teamed up with a great familly that have been manufacturing frames for the last 50 years for the most prestigious brands. Each frame is built from start to finish combining the traditional methods of production with the Italian ‘savoir faire’. For each frame, the entire process can last from 8 to 24 weeks.

Our frames have the same technical details, design and quality as the best non recycled frames. Samples are controlled up to the minimal details prior to production.

PRODUCTION
Renato
Once the 3d print has been approved, Renato will supervise
the production of our molds that are made in Segusino (Italy). Our upcycled UPSEA™ polymer heated up to 182 oC / 359oF will be injected in the molds.
TUMBLING
Once injected each piece can spend a few days in the tumblers, which are containers filled with small chips of beech and birch wood, whose movement produce a soft abrasion that eliminates imperfections and makes the surface perfectly smooth.
POLISHING
Graziano
After tumbling, each part is re-inspected and polished by Graziano, one of our expert craftsmen; every small imperfection is smoothed away
VARNISHING
Roberto
Hand varnishing makes every pair unique thanks to Roberto and his team. This manual process will make each frame exclusive and unique.
MARKING
Some brands like Sea2see still mark each temple by hand, when most brands in the eyewear production use lasers.
LENSES
Simone
Simone heads the lenses cutting area. Anything can be cut, whether its mineral, polycarbonate, nylon, CR39, polarized...

With more than 200 frames in the 2020 collection, each frame is check one by one, before being dispatched around the world to our Sea2see seastainable optician family.
